The email that starts a war is always three lines long

started by vicson 4 days ago 4 replies 2 views

  1. It is never the long one. It is always "Hi, as discussed, please see below." and then the whole office is on fire by noon.
  2. Add "just circling back on this" and you have a declaration of war.
  3. Not "per my last email". I have never seen anything so polite do so much damage.
  4. I once got cc-ed on one of these by accident and learned more about my department in four lines than in a year.
  5. The accidental cc is how everybody learns everything. HR should just make it official.
